The 13 random things

"Tonight we are young, So lets set the world on fire, We can burn brighter than the sun"

1. The one thing I truly believe in is merit - that you have to earn everything and that you will get what you deserve. I hate it when merit is compromised and will beat myself to death if I get the slightest hint that I compromised it. Which is why in most cases, I don't give myself the credit I deserve. Or so I've been told.

2. I cannot study/work/do anything without music. There just has to be something in the background. I don't know how to appreciate music or to identify the really awesome parts of a song - but I know when  I like a song; and that works fine.

3. I am really bad at expressing emotions. Not as bad as the twilight chick - but I just find it hard to express happiness/sadness. Having said that, there is a cheat sheet to my heart. There are somethings that will immediately move me - extremely hardworking individuals who are fighting unfavourable circumstances/the lives of the elderly.

4. I fear driving. I think I will kill someone. I will eventually perfect it - maybe with an automatic car and cleaner roads.

5. I am not well read. People take me as someone who has watched the right movies, read the classics, knows about world politics but sadly I don't. I haven't even read Oliver Twist. The first real book I read was A Christmas Carol when I was 10. But yes, since then I have done well.

6. I hate parties where I don't know people. I will at most parties align to one person who I know or like, and just stick with them. My enjoyment of a party is inversely proportional to the number of people I know.

7. I will never have children. I will always doubt if I did a good job or not.

8. I want to go to Nankana Sahib in Pakistan. My grandfather always wanted to go but couldn't. I feel that I owe to him. I know that it wouldn't be majestic or that nothing out of the blue would happen - but it would give me a sense of closure. That I did my duty.

9. One of my greatest fears is not being able to see.

10.  I suck at apologizing. I always make matters worse. So I always use humour as a strategy when apologizing - to minimize the apology damage. I will also take your word when you say you're okay. If you say maybe or shrug your shoulders, I will be shit confused and will continue the apologizing until you're okay.

11. I like doing crazy things. But never alone. Either you dare me to do it or you do it with me.

12. My first hotmail email id (which continues to be my facebook id) had 13 in it - mostly because I was 13 years old when I made it. My gmail id has 13 in it because my hotmail id had 13 in it. And now my twitter account, facebook account, this blog post and many other things have 13 in it. That's how random my lucky number is.

13. I will finish writing a book. Someday.
